O&B Report for Tuesday 16 January 2024

It was monthly Stableford day and eight brave souls presented for the challenge knowing that the weather was a bit iffy to say the least and that the course was still very wet from the recent rain.  Undaunted, we set off...we lost the first player after hole 6 and the first downpour, another 2 capitulated after hole 7...oh dear !  We were now a couple of 2Balls and pressed on doggedly.  The front pair, playing at a good pace, escaped most of the remaining showers that assaulted us (lucky lads); the following pair were not so fortunate !  No big surprises on the scores which were as follows...the mention went to Mike Sotiriou on 23 points - if only he had scored one more point, it would have put 3 of the 4 finishers on 24 points !!  So, third place on countback with 24 points was Tony Sarginson, winning 2 Euro. Runner-up was taken with the same 24 points by Alan Young, winning 5 Euro.  Our champion, and man of the match, on 33 points was Yours Truly, Wild Bill, winning 8 Euro and the admiration of the other 3 who knew just how difficult it had been out there; hopefully the force will remain with him for the Inter Club match this Saturday...c'mon EPI !!  See you all next Tuesday for more fun in Happy Valley, hopefully.
