The Chairperson's Foreword

It is a real privilege to take on the role of Chair of the Joint Services Golf Club Episkopi (JSGC(E)). Having served as a soldier for 22 years, I fully recognise the importance of facilities like this—not just as sporting venues, but as places that bring people together.

JSGC(E) is more than just a golf course. It is a welcoming and inclusive environment for serving personnel, families, veterans, and the wider WSBA community. Whether you are completely new to the game, a junior starting out, or a regular player looking to improve, the club provides a relaxed setting to enjoy golf at your own pace. That accessibility is what makes the club special and sets it apart from many other courses on the island.

Situated in Happy Valley, the course is something of a hidden gem. It offers an enjoyable and challenging 18-hole layout, set against some outstanding views of the Mediterranean coastline. However, what truly defines the club is not just the course itself, but its people. We remain committed to maintaining a friendly and approachable atmosphere where all members, new and existing, feel welcome both on and off the course.

Working alongside the committee, I am focused on ensuring the club continues to serve as a key community facility within the WSBA. That means maintaining standards, improving where we can, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the club for those who rely on it. Like many Service-run facilities, we depend heavily on the support of volunteers, and I would encourage anyone who can contribute their time or experience to get involved—every bit of help genuinely makes a difference.

I look forward to seeing you on the course or in the clubhouse, whether that’s during a competition or simply enjoying the social side of the club.
